When we look at a problem. reality is not our companion. We tend to look at things in the way that creates the solutions to our problems in the easiest way. We are biased towards looking at the way to resolve the problem that entails the least amount of effort.
But that is not how the world necessarily operates in reality. Reality lays out the problem and its conditions and expects us to find the best path to resolve the issue. That is what happens when we see the problem, feel the problem and change to a new normal.
So what is the cause of the differences? The differences is in the way we view the workplace. We can either see things for what they are. We can see things as our customer tells us is the condition of the process. We can see the problem and its suggested outcomes from the perspective of resolving the problem.
Or we can look at the workplace as we envision it and see conditions from our view not the customer. We can believe that the customer doe snot know what the real problem is, that only we have the ability to do that.
When trying to resolve workplace problems critically think out the problem. Be willing to consider all angles to the issues at hand. Work with a diversity of thought, backgrounds and tools to reach the conclusions as to what is the best solution for the place and time you find yourselves in.
