Two of Canada’s largest IT staffing firms are merging. Today, S.i. Systems ULC announced that it acquired Eagle Professional Resources in a deal that closed on New Year’s Eve.
Both firms appeared on SIA’s recently released list of largest Canadian staffing firms.
Eagle is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and has approximately 100 employees in 10 offices across Canada. It was founded in 1996 by Janis Grantham, Kevin Dee and Jonah Laist.
“Our organizations are very complementary with shared values, culture and performance,” S.i. Systems CEO Derek Bullen said.
Bullen noted he has known the Eagle founders for more than 20 years and they have worked together to share ideas and advice.
“Our vision statements as to where we want to be in the future were nearly identical, and we both believed that by combining our teams would take us to our mutual future state faster,” Bullen said. “Canada is still a highly fragmented and underestimated market size, and we believe there is much more to achieve here together.”
All Eagle staff and consultants will join S.i. Systems.
“By joining S.i. Systems we are creating a Canadian powerhouse in IT staffing, and an exciting next chapter for the Eagle Team,” Grantham said. “The new combined entity provides more opportunities for our contractors and better access to on-demand talent for our clients.”
Grantham appeared on SIA’s 2021 Global Power 150 — Women in Staffing list.
Bullen said business lines that are unique to Eagle will remain under the Eagle brand going forward while others will come under the S.i. Systems brand.
