The American Staffing Association announced a new president, promoting Stephen Dwyer to the role effective this month.
Dwyer, an attorney, most recently served as senior VP and chief legal and operating officer at the ASA.
“The ASA staff, board of directors, and I look forward to working with Stephen to further advance the interests of the staffing, recruiting and talent solutions industry and the millions of people we place and employ every day,” CEO Richard Wahlquist said in a statement.
Dwyer is well known in the industry and has been at the ASA for more than 20 years. He has been instrumental in leading the ASA’s advocacy efforts.
“Stephen’s wealth of experience and deep understanding of the staffing industry make him the ideal leader to partner with ASA CEO Richard Wahlquist, guiding our association forward,” Threase Baker, ASA board chair, said in a press release.
Wahlquist had been president and CEO; he remains CEO while Dwyer becomes president.
