The Conference Board-Lightcast Help Wanted OnLine Index of job ads rose to a reading of 152.6 (July 2018=100) in November, up from October’s downwardly revised 147.0 reading.
The 3.8% increase between November and October follows a 6.6% decline between September and October. Overall, the index is down 6.9% from a year ago.
This index measures the change in advertised online job vacancies over time, reflecting monthly trends in employment opportunities across the US.
The Conference Board produces the index in collaboration with Lightcast (formerly Emsi Burning Glass), a labor market data and analysis provider. The ads are collected in real time from more than 50,000 online job domains, including traditional job boards, corporate boards, social media sites and smaller jobs sites that serve niche markets and smaller geographic areas.
