US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced Dec. 13 that it has received enough petitions for H-1B visas to meet the regular cap of 65,000 and the US advanced degree cap of 20,000 for the 2024 federal fiscal year, which began Oct. 1. H-1B visas allow US employers to bring in highly skilled foreign workers, such as IT workers, on a temporary basis.
In October, USCIS announced a rulemaking aimed at what it says is misuse and fraud.
