A contingent worker at a Club Car LLC facility in Evans, Georgia, died after becoming entrapped in a conveyor belt on March 8, The Augusta (Georgia) Press reported. The worker, Alyssa Drinkard, 21, was trying to reach AirPods that had been dropped when she became caught. Maintenance personnel worked to halt the machinery, but Drinkard could not be rescued in time, the newspaper said. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to SIA that Drinkard was a contingent worker. SIA has reached out to Club Car for further information.
