Uber Technologies and Lyft were slated to go to trial today in a misclassification lawsuit by the Massachusetts attorney general, CNN reported. The lawsuit asks a federal judge to rule that Uber and Lyft drivers are employees under state law and therefore eligible for benefits such as minimum wage, overtime and earned sick time. Uber and Lyft argue they are not transportation companies that employ drivers but operate apps that connect drivers with riders.
