The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Health and Safety Administration and its Wage and Hour Division issued a statement Friday reminding employers of the need to keep workers safe during the holiday season. The agencies specifically mentioned temporary employees.
“With more temporary and part-time workers employed during the holidays, it’s important that we inform these workers and their employers about rules concerning work hours, wages and employment conditions, including their rights to paid sick leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act,” said Wage and Hour Division Administrator Cheryl Stanton.
The agencies pointed to information on OSHA’s website on the protection of temporary workers.
