VMS provider Beeline acquired JoinedUp, a UK-based software platform used to manage the end-to-end process for high volume, shift-based labor. JoinedUp’s features include scheduling and availability, onboarding and compliance, time tracking and billing, and invoicing.
The acquisition was completed last week.
“High-volume, shift-based work is about one thing — fulfilling open shifts,” Beeline CEO Doug Leeby said. “JoinedUp allows us to offer an elegant and efficient solution that benefits both the client’s site personnel as well as the staffing firms responsible for servicing this highly dynamic environment.”
VMS traditionally served some high-volume staffing, but it has not been widely adopted due to the complexities in managing this labor category at the operational site level, according to Beeline. JoinedUp’s solution is aimed at shift-based work, although it will not take the place of a VMS.
“Organizations need to fill openings quickly; workers need an easy way to find shifts,” said Adam Thompson, JoinedUp co-founder and former owner. “When we take JoinedUp’s capabilities and pair them with Beeline’s extensive client base all over the world, we will have a huge impact on these pain points and enable better productivity for enterprises, staffing firms, and workers alike.”
JoinedUp will continue to operate as a separate, stand-alone business and retain its brand. Its 26 employees will remain, and its three co-founders will report to Leeby.
JoinedUp began operating under its current name in 2018. The company had been a driver staffing business prior to pivoting to its present iteration. It currently operates in the UK but is beginning operations in the US.
