April’s increase in the US Consumer Price Index came in lower than economists forecast, Yahoo Finance reported. The CPI rose by 0.3% in April, while economists had forecast a 0.4% uptick. However, Bankrate Senior Economist Analyst Mark Hamrick noted the battle against inflation will continue to require that interest rates remain elevated.
