Engineering staffing provider Airswift today announced the appointment of Joti Dhillon as regional director, Canada. She will be based in Calgary.
Dhillon succeeds the former regional director, Albert Kahlow, who moves into the role of group sales director – IT and technology, as Airswift continues its diversification strategy.
Dhillon has more than eight years’ experience within the Canadian recruitment industry as well as local and international knowledge of the oil and gas, engineering, mining and heavy construction industries.
The appointment follows strong Canadian growth over the last two years, according to Airswift. The company’s footprint expanded from Calgary, Alberta and Atlantic Canada, to include Toronto, Ontario allowing the company to service projects from East to West. Airswift has seen a 50% growth in employee headcount over the last two years, driven in part by supporting one of the largest energy investments in Canada’s history, the LNG Canada project at Kitimat, British Columbia, as well as several large petrochemical projects. In addition, Airswift recently secured contracts to support several renewable energy suppliers in the east of the country, and has expanded its operations across chemicals, power, IT and technology.
“I am honored to take on this role and am in awe of the way the team has grown the business throughout Covid-19,” Dhillon said. “Canada is going through an exciting transformation with a government focus on renewables and clean energy, and an expanding tech scene, alongside the country’s strength in traditional energy.”
Airswift and Norway-based engineering staffing provider Competentia last month announced they are merging. Houston-based Airswift ranks among the largest global providers of engineering staffing, according to SIA.
