Google withdraws offers to 2,000 contract workers from temp firms (The New York Times)

Google is holding off on bringing aboard more than 2,000 people who had signed on as temporary workers through agencies, The New York Times reported today. It was not immediately clear where the affected workers were located but they included workers in the US, India and the Philippines, according to the newspaper. The move comes amid a slowdown in advertising caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
