A workshop on promoting competition in labor markets — including the gig economy — will take place Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 with the US Department of Justice and the US Federal Trade Commission hosting. Plans call for bringing together lawyers, economists, academics, policy experts, labor groups and workers. Up for discussion will be noncompete agreements, the role of federal agencies in ensuring fair competition in the labor markets, and the relationship between antitrust law and collective bargaining efforts in the gig economy.
