AB Staffing Solutions LLC reported a cyberattack that resulted in a data breach involving information from current and former professionals at the firm. However, the healthcare staffing firm reported it has not received reports of actual or attempted misuse of information in an announcement on Friday.
The incidents involved an unknown attacker gaining unauthorized access to certain AB Staffing employee email accounts on separate occasions in May and June 2020, according to the company.
AB Staffing worked with a third-party forensic investigator to review the emails that were accessed. Impacted email accounts included information on professionals placed by AB Staffing, according to the company, such as name, date of birth, address, Social Security, driver’s license/government identification number, passport number, financial account information, medical history/treatment information, insurance information, electronic signature, tax identification number and/or username and password.
AB Staffing has reset the relevant account passwords and taken steps to determine what personal data was at risk. It is also notifying potentially affected individuals and is providing them with access to complementary credit monitoring and identity protection services. In addition, the company is working to review existing policies and procedures, implement additional safeguards and provide additional training to employees on data privacy and security.
Other workforce ecosystem firms have also reported cyberattacks in recent months.
