The agenda for the upcoming HR Technology Conference & Exposition®—which returns to an in-person event Sept. 28-Oct. 1 in Las Vegas—was unveiled this week, and the breadth of the topics covered highlights both the challenges and opportunities that await HR leaders in a post-pandemic world.
In addition to the keynote and mega sessions, breakout sessions will be grouped into eight tracks, which were programmed to reflect the most pressing issues at the intersection of HR and technology:
- AI in HR
- core HR
- diversity, equity and inclusion
- employee experience
- employee wellbeing
- building a future-ready workforce
- learning/reskilling
- talent acquisition
What it means to HR leaders
Unsurprisingly, many of the sessions within each track explore the pandemic’s impact over the last year and, potentially, for the long-term.
For instance, a presentation by UKG on Sept. 30 dives into how the events of the last year have proven that traditional wellness programs are no longer enough and organizations need to pivot to a more holistic view of employee health. In another session that day, under the future-ready track, EY will present the results of its Work Reimagined Study 2021, which looks at shifting worker priorities and how HR can continue to center employee needs, especially in a hybrid environment. And also on Sept. 30, the TA track includes a Jobvite session that looks at the need for agile practices in light of the pandemic.

Steve Boese, chair of the conference, says organizers sought to streamline content into fewer tracks this year, so the eight selected areas highlight the most relevant HR concerns.
“We think the tracks speak to what matters the most for the typical organization today and how these themes were impacted in 2020 and into this year,” he says. “We tried to keep the agenda really focused and want to deliver new ideas, insights and HR technology case studies to help HR leaders with their most pressing challenges.”
