Executive search firm Egon Zehnder named Francesco Buquicchio as its CEO effective Nov. 1. Buquicchio takes over from Edilson Camara, who will step down effective Oct. 31.

Buquicchio is based in Milan, Italy, and currently leads Egon Zehnder’s global leadership advisory services practice. He previously served as country leader in Italy and served on the firm’s executive committee for six years.

“As we celebrate our 60th anniversary this year, I am honored and humbled to be a part of this remarkable firm’s history,” Buquicchio said in a press release. “I look forward to writing our future chapters with our extraordinary and vibrant team, spanning many regions and world views, united by our purpose — leadership for a better world.”

Buquicchio joined Egon Zehnder in 2007. He previously worked for BT Italy, McKinsey & Co. and at other firms in roles based in Rome, London and California.

Buquicchio will be the seventh person to serve as CEO in Egon Zehnder’s 60-year history when he takes over from Camara.

“We thank Ed for his leadership over these past six years — he laid a strong foundation that enabled the firm to accelerate its growth,” Chair Michael Ensser said in a press release.

Buquicchio will leverage the firm’s expertise in several areas as it begins its seventh decade in business, Ensser continued.
