The Biden administration on April 22 announced a new rule mandating minimum staffing levels for nursing homes, The Hill reported. And a majority of the country’s roughly 15,000 nursing homes will likely need to add staff to meet the new standards, according to The Hill. Nursing home operators had opposed the new rule. Advocates had argued that nursing home residents are safer and have better care with more staff. The rule will be introduced in phases.
