A requirement that staffing firms and recruiters in the province of Ontario be licensed has been delayed until July 1, 2024, according to a report in Lexology by Nicole Deniset of law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP.  The requirement had been slated to take effect on Jan. 1, 2024.

The delay comes amid concerns the rule would be too burdensome for small staffing firms.

Under the new licensing plan, staffing firms will be required to provide C$25,000 in the form of a revocable letter of credit.
