While 2020 proved a difficult year to find summer jobs, they are bouncing back this year, according to PeopleReady, a division of staffing firm TrueBlue Inc. (NYSE: TBI). It noted part-time job numbers are up 47% from the same period in 2020 and up 23% from the same period in 2019.
PeopleReady noted that approximately 309,000 part-time jobs have been posted over the last 30 days, citing its own analysis. The increase brings the number of part-time job postings to around 1.2 million.
“As the world opens back up and things begin to return to normal, businesses have many roles they are looking to fill, which can make for a perfect summer job or something more long-term for job seekers who want flexibility,” PeopleReady President Taryn Owen said.
Some of the top summer jobs include:
- Nannies and babysitters
- Retail associates
- Housekeepers and cleaners
- Warehouse package handlers and general warehouse workers

- Bartenders
- Hosts/hostesses
