The American Staffing Association promoted Kelly Verberg to senior VP and chief membership officer. Verberg joined the ASA in 1992 and has served in several roles, most recently as VP for membership and engagement. In addition, the ASA promoted Toby Malara to VP, government relations. Malara previously was government affairs counsel; he joined the ASA in 2003.
Salo, a Minneapolis-based staffing provider, named James Pierce as chief information officer, effective Oct. 4. Pierce has more than 30 years of experience, most recently as development leader for Cargill Health Technology.
The National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations made two board announcements. Jarin Dana, CFO of Fusion Healthcare Staffing, has been elected VP of NALTO. In addition, James Chandler, senior VP of Health Carousel Locum Network, has been tapped as treasurer. The post of treasurer had previously been filled by Dana. Both officers will be serving two-year terms.
Cornerstone Staffing Solutions appointed Kara Morrison as director of human resources. Morrison previously held roles at several major staffing firms, most recently as talent acquisition consultant at AMN Healthcare Services Inc. Prior to that, she worked as HR operations manager at TRC Staffing and as national recruitment consultant at Randstad Professionals. She is based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Vaco promoted Josh Haymond to managing partner of its Raleigh, North Carolina office. Haymond joined the staffing firm in 2013 as a senior leader of the Raleigh office’s accounting and finance practice. He had worked for five years in public accounting as a CPA with PwC and KPMG before joining Vaco. Previous managing partner of the Raleigh office, Sid Mitchener, will take on an expanded role at Vaco Holdings and will continue to serve as senior VP and executive partner.
LandrumHR named Ildi Hosman as director of public relations and internal communications. Hosman most recently served as president for Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida.
Staffing provider Futuris Co. (OTCMKTS: FTRS) announced board member Larry Gaffey has retired, effective Sept. 30.
Glider AI, a provider of artificial intelligence-based pre-employment assessments, hired Ben Walker as VP of operations, overseeing company operations, customer partnerships and supporting growth. Walker most recently was senior VP of customer success at Brightfield and prior to that led contingent workforce strategy at Bloomberg LP.
IT staffing and managed service firm 1218 Global announced that Craig Roe has rejoined the company’s executive team as 1218 Global Bullhorn practice director. Roe had spent two years as a principal strategic consultant for staffing software firm Bullhorn.
