Plans in place to refine California AB 5 independent contractor law; misconceptions persist (USA Today)

There are plans in place to refine California’s AB 5 law to address some concerns, state Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez told USA Today. The law codified the stricter ABC test for determining independent contractor misclassification. However, Gonzalez said there’s misconceptions about the law and many questions arriving in her office raise issues already accounted for in the bill.
