Longtime staffing executive and president and CEO of Cornerstone Staffing Solutions, Steven Drexel, passed away on Jan. 9 in Houston after a brief illness, his family announced.
Drexel was a 37-plus year veteran of the staffing industry and joined Cornerstone Staffing Solutions in September 2012. His previous experience included serving at companies such as Kelly and CSG Holdings Inc. (North American portfolio company of UK-based Impellam Group plc) as well as specialty firms including US Legal Support and the Amerit Family of Cos. (now part of Evergent Group). Drexel was also formerly president and CEO of CSG Holdings Inc.
He was named to the Staffing 100 list of most influential people in 2013.
In addition, Drexel worked with the US Bureau of Labor Statistics since the mid-1990s, where he served as an executive committee member of the Business Research Advisory Council and as chairman of the Employment & Unemployment Statistics Committee.
Drexel also served for three years as the Industry Information Committee Chairman for the American Staffing Association.
