Private equity firms Cornell Capital LLC and TorQuest Partners took a majority stake in S.i. Systems ULC, an IT staffing provider that ranks as the fifth-largest staffing firm in Canada, according to the most recent data.
S.i. Systems is headquartered in Calgary, Canada, with offices across the country. Recently, S.i. Systems entered the US market with offices in Chicago and Houston. The company was founded in 1994.
S.i. Systems will continue to be based in Calgary, and its top executives will continue to lead the company. They include CEO and founder Derek Bullen, President Leonie Tyler and CFO Andrew White.
“This partnership will provide S.i. Systems with the support and added resources to expand our IT specialization, making us better equipped to serve our clients,” Bullen said. “We are thrilled to have exceptional partners in Cornell Capital and TorQuest that bring unique perspectives and experience partnering with innovative companies to drive growth and create value.”
Cornell Capital TorQuest announced the investment Nov. 2. Cornell Capital is based in New York and Hong Kong, while TorQuest is based in Toronto.
Terms of the transaction were not announced.
Earlier this year, S.i. Systems acquired Eagle Professional Resources, Canada’s 13th-largest staffing firm.
