Randstad nv appointed a new global CEO for its Randstad Sourceright division that provides MSP and RPO services. Michael Smith will take on the job effective Jan. 1.
Smith is presently managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with dual responsibilities for leading Randstad Sourceright EMEA and the Randstad UK operating company.

Smith is based in Amsterdam but will relocate to the US for his new role.
Rebecca Henderson, who presently leads Randstad Sourceright, will oversee the transition, and will continue to serve as CEO of Randstad Global Businesses and as a Randstad executive board member. Smith will report to her.
Randstad announced changes to its Randstad Sourceright offering earlier this year.
Smith is assuming Henderson’s duties as well as those of Bob Lopes, who had served as group president of Randstad North America. Lopes has been with Randstad since 2014 and transitioned to his new role of chief human resources officer of Randstad North America on Oct. 1.
Replacing Smith in Randstad UK’s office will be Victoria “Vicky” Short, who will become CEO of Randstad UK effective Jan. 1. Short has been with Randstad for more than 20 years.
Randstad also announced that Rachid Schmitz was promoted to managing director of Continental Europe and strategic sales; Schmitz previously served as executive VP of sales for Randstad Sourceright EMEA.
David Vincent, Randstad Sourceright’s managing director of UK and Ireland, will also have his role expanded to include the responsibility of aligning Randstad Sourceright’s EMEA strategy.
