Salaries for some occupations are going up despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and businesses will need to increase salaries by up to 3.5% for high-demand roles in order to remain competitive., according to data from Randstad US.
The largest salary increases will be for roles such as warehouse and logistics managers. Competitive wages for warehouse managers will increase 3.5% to $43.21 per hour. Meanwhile, competitive wages for logistics managers will also increase 3.5% to $45.95 per hour.
Positions in other fields are also facing an increase. For example, e-commerce business analysts and marketing media managers are likely to see a 0.5% increase in their salaries, reaching highs of $107,107 and $131,130, respectively.
“Despite labor market challenges associated with the pandemic, our data shows that many employers across a number of industries are still in desperate need of workers,” said Karen Fichuk, CEO of Randstad North America. “That demand is driving an uptick in compensation and benefits for these roles, and employers will need to meet these expectations to secure talent in a tightening labor market.”
In other findings, the report said:
- Data scientists may see their salaries increase by 1.5% to $126,218 at the median.
- Accounting managers will see a 0.5% increase to between $98,906 at the midrange.
- Benefits analysts in human resources will see a 1.75% increase to between $60,071 and $71,174 in the midrange.
