Last year 48 firms generated $50 million or more in US healthcare staffing revenue, according to the “Largest Healthcare Staffing Firms in the US: 2020 Update” report released Tuesday by SIA.
“Last year, the US healthcare staffing industry generated a record $18.1 billion in revenue, roughly double the $9.1 billion achieved in 2011 when the last economic expansion began,” said Timothy Landhuis, director of research for North America at SIA. “This report highlights the market-leading firms that through innovation and efficiency have substantially grown the healthcare staffing industry while also increasing the depth and breadth of service offerings to clients.”
The 48 largest firms generated a total of $13.9 billion in revenue in 2019 and accounted for 77% of the market.
AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AMN) ranked as the largest, as it had last year, and CHG Healthcare Services ranked as second-largest.

This year’s list also saw one new company qualify for the list: Host Healthcare.
In addition to the list of largest healthcare staffing firms, the report includes sub-lists for the largest travel nurse, per diem nurse, locum tenens and allied healthcare staffing firms.
