This week is Staffing for Canada Week. The Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services and its 1,500 member offices recognize the week each year.
“Last year our members, which include established recruiting, executive search and staffing service firms, placed more than 600,000 candidates and generated approximately 80% of the staffing industry’s overall revenue in Canada,” Mary McIninch, executive director of the association, said in a press release.
The association said its members place 2 million job seekers each year.
Celebrations of the week first took place in 1980 in Edmonton, Alberta. At that time, it was known as “National Temporaries Week.”
