The latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator released today for the week ended June 5 showed staffing hours worked in the US remained stable for professional and commercial occupations. However, growth is seen ahead.
“We remain optimistic that the US staffing industry is poised for further growth based on trends in the indicator and other improving economic data points,” according to the report. “As one example, the Labor Department reported that initial jobless claims last week dropped for the sixth straight week to 376,000, another pandemic low.”
Week ending June 5, 2021 | Indexed value | Year over year | Week over week |
US staffing | 97 | +29% | -3.8% |
Commercial staffing | 86 | +21% | -3.7% |
Professional staffing | 118 | +40% | -3.8% |
Professional staffing hours rose 40% year over year while hours worked in commercial staffing were up 21% year over year.
The week-over-week decline in temporary staffing hours was mainly due to the Memorial Day holiday.
