Temporary staffing hours worked in the US remained flat in the week ended Nov. 11 compared to the week before but were down 7% year over year, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report.

The average week-over-week growth rate was 0.5% for commercial staffing hours, compared with a 1.8% decline for professional hours, according to the report. On a year-over-year basis, staffing hours worked declined in both professional and commercial staffing.

Since the Labor Day holiday, the average week-over-week growth rate was 1.6% for professional hours, compared with 0.8% for commercial hours and 1.0% for US staffing overall. “These average growth rates appear to slow further every week, suggesting the momentum we have been describing is becoming more muted,” the report states.
