Temporary staffing revenue growth continued its prolonged streak of strong year-over-year growth in February with a median increase of 25% — up from a median year-over-year increase of 23% in December, according to the recently released Staffing Industry Analysts Pulse Survey.
February’ survey included data from 151 staffing companies.
Among the survey’s findings, the astronomical growth of travel nursing in 2021 carried over to the beginning of this year, with a median increase in revenue of more than 100% year over year.
Allied healthcare was up 40%, and per diem nursing was up 42%.
Outside of healthcare, the fastest growth was in IT, up by a median 23% year over year. Direct hire revenue followed, up 22%.
A double-digit year over year increase was seen in every staffing segment except legal, where median revenue was up 6% year over year.
A report that includes selected highlights from the Pulse survey is available to corporate members of SIA; the full Pulse report itself is available only to companies that took part in the survey. The full 35-page report contains insights on trends in revenue, bill rates, orders, gross margins, recruiting/sales difficulty, and a six-month outlook for each staffing skill segment.
