As AI and automation reshape the workforce, not all roles face the same level of disruption. A new study by Linkee analyzed factors like automation risk, job growth, salary, search interest, and job openings to determine which professions are best protected from AI-driven replacement. The findings highlight roles that rely on creativity, complex decision-making, and interpersonal skills—areas where machines still fall short.

1. Chief Executives
Topping the list, CEOs face an automation risk of just 14%. Their role’s complexity, need for strategic vision, and people management responsibilities make it difficult to replicate with AI. They also command the highest average salary—$206,680—and attract nearly one million monthly searches. Growth is moderate at 5.5% through 2033.

2. Architects
With an 18% automation risk, architects blend technical proficiency and creativity—two things AI struggles to match. The field offers solid growth (7.8%) and 19,000 open positions, with an average salary of $93,310.

3. Event Planners
Event planners rely on interpersonal and problem-solving skills that resist automation (20% risk). Though the average salary is lower at $56,920, the role is in high demand with over 356,000 monthly searches.

4. PR Managers
At 25% automation risk, PR managers handle nuanced communications, crisis response, and reputation management. They earn $134,760 but have the lowest search volume of any top-10 role at 11,820.

5. IT Project Managers
This role merges tech know-how and leadership, resulting in a 27% automation risk. Growth is strong (10.8%), with an average salary of around $120K.

6. Human Resources Managers
Also at 27% risk, HR managers are projected to grow 12%—the highest of all roles in the study. They generate significant search interest (749,000/month) and command solid compensation.

7. Management Analysts
With a 28% AI risk and 10.6% growth, this under-the-radar career offers strong stability but relatively low search volume.

8. Brand Strategists
At 34% risk, brand strategy requires creative thinking and human insight. While openings are limited, the role pays well at $120,948.

9. Sales Managers
Despite a 36% automation risk, sales managers remain in high demand, with over 56,000 job openings and competitive salaries.

10. Marketing Managers
The most exposed role on the list (38% risk), marketing managers still lead in job availability and earn the second-highest salary—$157,620.

The bottom line: roles involving leadership, creativity, and human connection remain the safest bets in an AI-driven job market.
