The top recruiting challenges of 2021 include the skills gap, virtual recruitment and the recruitment process, according to a global survey of hiring professionals by job board operator Monster Worldwide.
It found that 40% of respondents expect to continue facing the skills gap, with a third of respondents saying the skills gap has increased.
Monster’s survey also found that 28% of respondents said they still struggle to master virtual recruiting. However, the US is in the lead when it comes to adapting to virtual practices with 70% of US recruiters using virtual technology for at least half of their candidate interviewing and new-hire onboarding.
When it comes to recruiting challenges, Monster’s data found that HR professionals cited these as the top three recruiting process concerns:
- Assessing candidates during the interview, 41%
- Identifying quality candidates quickly, 40%
- Effectively screening candidates pre-interview, 36%
